A year ago today, I got a tattoo.
I never considered myself a tattoo person. I was one of those people who couldn’t figure out what I’d want on my body for the rest of my life.
A month before I got the tattoo, I started seeing it on my arm in my peripheral vision.
I’ve always had a connection with dragonfly. It’s one of my guides, but having it on my arm forever was another thing.
I couldn’t ignore the vision though, because it continued to return again and again.
I tried to negotiate for my back or somewhere less “in my face,” but no. It needed to be in my arm exactly where I’d been shown.
I wandered into @Ink2luum_tattoo_tulum one day with a friend who knows a thing or two about tattoos and realized it was meant to be.⠀⠀
I went back a few days later with the closest drawing I could find to what I’d been shown.
When he put the outline of the drawing on my arm for the first time, a huge rush of energy ran through my body from my crown to my toes.
I immediately understood the power behind the tattoo and why it needed to be there.
Dragonfly represents transformation and metamorphosis, seeing through illusions and adaptability.
All things that resonate deeply in my soul.
They’re a powerful ally in the spirit world too.
It’s such a part of me now, it would be strange not have it with me.
